Solidsvac Desludge Tailings Dams with the SV440-CVCD

Solidsvac desludge tailings dams with an SV440-CVCD as an efficient means of increasing or maintaining a dam’s holding capacity. For this BMA operation, the contractor, G-Mech employed a Solidsvac SV440-CVCD. A vacuum manifold allowed the use of multiple pick-ups which were six metres in length. These then allowed the operator of the Solidsvac to desludge the tailings dams by removing the build-up, continuously changing the point of vacuum. Gravity and the head of water then continuously played their part lowering the level of solids.

An estimated 3000 thousand cubic metres of sludge was pumped to a drying area some 800 metres away. This allowed the pontoon floated free, and the submersibles returned to service within a matter of days. Solidsvac personnel have extensive experience on a wide range of applications and a conversation can save operators significant costs on what are generally, relatively straightforward tasks.

Solidsvac also design and manufacture a range of accessories that either enhance pump performance or provide benefits for other pumps. These include our SV-FS Float free Level Sensors and SV-Strainer Trainer‘s that eliminate suction blockages.

Solidsvac equipment is available to purchase or rent from our regional distributors Innovative Mining Services in WA and G-Mech in Mackay Qld. https://solidsvac.com/solidsvac-representatives-nationally-internationally/
