Our Story

Engineered by People Who Know the Work

Solidsvac grew out of the field. Before we manufactured our own equipment, we spent years running vacuum loading pumps on working sites, which showed us exactly where conventional pumps fall short on sludge, slurry and abrasive solids.

That experience is built into every pump we make. Each unit is designed, manufactured and tested at our Caboolture facility, north of Brisbane, and the business remains 100% Australian owned and family run.

Today, Solidsvac equipment is working in underground mines, on drilling rigs and offshore platforms, and in treatment plants across six continents, backed by distributors who understand their local industries.

Our History

Four Decades of Pumping the Unpumpable

From underground coal to a patented range working on six continents, here is how Solidsvac got here.

  1. Mid 1980s

    Born Underground

Solidsvac technology started out some 40 years ago as a 100% pneumatic clean-up solution for the underground coal industry.

  2. 2004

    An International Patent

A new design was awarded an international patent, and the value of the technology finally saw the light of day. A global supply contract with Halliburton then took the pumps into new markets around the world.

  3. A New Generation

    Solidsvac Is Created

When the original patent expired and the company was sold, the need for a more versatile and efficient range kept growing. Solidsvac was created, with new patents for leaner solids pumps and the world-first CVCD models that deliver continuous vacuum and discharge.

  4. 2026

    The Solidsvac Pump Selector

Drawing on 40 years of solids pumping across industries worldwide, the Pump Selector gives clients a simple way to see if a Solidsvac vacuum loading pump can solve the problem on their site.

The Krohn Name

More Than Solids Pumps

As with Solidsvac, the Krohn name is synonymous with the development of materials handling equipment. Alongside the Supavac and Solidsvac solids pumps, the family of designs also includes:
