SV150 Sludge Pumping BHP
An SV150 Pumping Sludge for BHP from a lined dam at the Kwinana Nickel Refinery in WA. The continuous vacuum loading of the crystalline sludge and pumping capability of the Solidsvac SV150-CVCD proved the most efficient and economical means. Removing several hundred cubes of material in the limited time available was the challenge.
After an initial trial using an SV70-SPDK to prove the concept, the SV150 was rented direct from Solidsvac. Operated by BHP’s own team and using a Bull Nose Suction Wand to protect the lining. The entire operation was successfully completed in the allotted time. All reports were 100% favorable from the BHP team with regards to ease of use and performance. BHP have now committed to employing the larger SV440-CVCD for two larger dams to desludge in early 2026.
