The Solidsvac 35m vertical sludge lift on FPSO Bonga removing oil sludge tank bottoms was deemed, “extraordinary” by the equipment’s operator. Tight access meant total vacuum distance was around 60-70 metres with 50% of that being vertical. The sludge, scale and grit with an Sg of 1.8 was conveyed vertically using the Solidsvac Vac-Pack.
TIG used the Vac-Pack to deliver a 35m vertical sludge lift via the manhole on the Shell Bonga FPSO. The Vac-Pack recovered the sludge directly into two vacuum rated skips enabling non-stop vacuum.
